Lodging a complaint under PIDPI ensures that identity of complainant shall be kept confidential.
HOW IS PIDPI COMPLAINT FILED?
- The PIDPI complaint should be addressed in a closed/secured envelope to Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission, Satarkta Bhavan, Block-A,GPO Complex, INA, New Delhi – 110 023; The envelope should clearly be super-scribed with “Complaint under the Public Interest Disclosure” or “PIDPI”.
- Only complaints against Central Government officials (including PSUs, PSBs and UTs) will be taken into cognizance
- The complaints should have vigilance angle and should not be for grievance redressal.
- Anonymous & pseudonymous complaints will not be entertained. Complainant’s correct name and address should be mentioned only in the beginning or end of complaint or in an attached letter (inside closed cover). They should NOT be mentioned on the envelope.
- Guidelines for complaint to fulfil eligibility criteria under PIDPI & to ensure that the identity of complainant remains confidential:
a. Documents that reveal Identity of complainant should not be enclosed (eg. If received under RTI act).
b. Complaints should not be sent in open condition or vide email/online portal.
c. Complaints should not be personally related to complainant or already addressed to other authorities.
d. Complaints where confirmation of complainant’s identity is not received are closed.
